Atelier Furniture workshop in Lisbon

Our philosophy

We make furniture for the long run.

In a world of fast furniture, we take a different path. Every piece we make is designed with longevity in mind — in its construction, its materials, and its aesthetic. We believe that the best furniture is the kind that improves with age, developing a patina and character that tells the story of the life lived around it.

What we stand for

01

Honest materials

We use solid hardwoods — oak, walnut, ash — sourced from certified European forests. No veneers, no MDF, no shortcuts.

02

Made to order

Every piece is made when you order it. This means no warehouse, no waste, and a piece that is truly yours from the first cut.

03

Portuguese craft

Our workshop is in Lisbon. Our craftspeople are local. We are proud to carry forward a tradition of Portuguese woodworking excellence.

04

Designed to endure

We design for decades, not seasons. Our pieces are built with traditional joinery — mortise and tenon, dovetail — that will outlast trends.

The workshop

The people behind the pieces.

We are a small team of twelve — designers, woodworkers, upholsterers, and finishers — working together in our Lisbon workshop. Every person who touches your piece takes pride in their craft.

Our materials

Materials we trust.

European Oak

Our most-used timber. Strong, stable, and beautiful — with a grain that rewards careful finishing.

European Walnut

Rich, dark, and deeply characterful. Used for our statement dining and occasional pieces.

Solid Ash

Light, flexible, and resilient. The natural choice for our shelving and storage systems.

Natural Linen

Hand-stretched over our upholstered pieces. Softens beautifully with age and use.
